    Learn to create your own hand sewn and hand dyed leather wallet, change purse, or small bag. From concept to construction we will learn design techniques as well as hand sewing, and leather preparation methods. On day one, students will learn natural dyeing techniques specific to leather and create a swatch palette to test out colors and approaches. Day two, students will put their knowledge to work by designing and hand sewing their piece.

    In the next few days I will be updating information on my dyes. Dyeing is my favorite part of my work, and it matters a great deal to me to use natural dyes. In this new section, you will find out information about where each color and dye comes from, and how I use it in my work.

    As we turn to fall, it seems like a good time to look back at the year so far, as well as look forward to the rest of the year to come. Whenever I feel stuck in a creative rut, I try to think about the core beliefs of my business. I am commited to only using organic materials, natural dyes, and slow techniques. In the months ahead, I plan to add more products that are hand dyed and more materials that are organic as well as made in the USA.

    New Organic Collection

    I am so pleased to announce that my entire collection is created using all organic fabrics. I had been making the switch over the summer, and now I use about 4 different types of fabric, all of which are organic. Of course, I am still using all natural dyes, as usual. In fact, this collection uses Indigo, Quebracho, Osage Orange, Logwood, Iron, and Madder Root.
